ULTIMATELY IN AN EFFORT TO SPREAD THE GOOD WORD OF WHAT WE'RE DOING AND HOPEFULLY ATTRACT FUTURE EMPLOYEES INTO OUR SCHOOL DIVISION. SO AS A PUBLIC SCHOOL ADVOCATE, I BELIEVE THAT I MUST ENGAGE IN -- AND ELEVATE OUR PRICING THE POLARIZING TO REDUCE MUTUAL ANIMOSITY AND DISTRUST. I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE ARE SOME CONCERNS FROM OUR ELECTORAL BOARD THAT BY USING? INCLUDING THIS LANGUAGE, THAT I AM BREAKING SOME MORE I'M GOING AGAINST EXISTING FINANCE LAWS. SO WE ARE BEING MORE TRANSPARENT AND PROVIDING DYSREGULATION. IT PROVIDES PEOPLE WITH INFORMATION ON THE USE OF OUR COMMUNITY BUILDING. SO YES, I WOULD SAY THAT THERE'S STILL WORK THAT IS TO BE DONE ON THIS. I TOTALLY RESPECT THE THOUGHT THAT WENT INTO DECREASING THE USAGE OF THE BUILDING ANYTIME ONE REPLACING MATERIALS AND THE COST OF OUR LABOR INCREASE. THAT IS A RATIO THAT WE DO WATCH. AND AS YOU PROBABLY ARE AWARE, WE HAVE -- WE REALLY HIT THE GROUND RUNNING WITH OUR STUDENTS MONEY. WE WERE USING IT, YOU KNOW, AS SOON AS WE COULD. WE THOUGHT WE COULD BRING IN STAFF, OTHER SCHOOL DIVISIONS CANNOT FIND THE STAFF. WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE STAFF. WE GOT HIM IN RIGHT AWAY. SO WE DON'T REALLY HAVE A LOT OF STIMULUS MONEY LEFT. THAT WE ORIGINALLY HAVE PLACED. SO DURING THE NOVEMBER 22ND &NO& 20 NINTH MEETINGS FOR WE INDICATED TO BOTH YOU AND THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS THE SACRIFICES THAT WE WERE WILLING TO MAKE TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN. THE NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. SO YOU CAN SEE FROM ANYWHERE FROM TWO TO FIVE YEARS HAS BEEN -- WE HAVE SHIFTED THOSE PROJECTS. SO THAT THEY DON'T FALL WITHIN THIS CURRENT FIVE-YEAR FUNDING TO. THAT CREATED A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF SAVINGS IN THAT FIVE-YEAR WINDOW. THE ENGINEERING FOR A LOT OF THE HIGH SCHOOL ADDITIONS AND RENOVATIONS WERE TO START NEXT YEAR. THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN IN NEXT YEAR'S FUNDING WINDOW AND SO WE HAVE MOVED THOSE OUT. KNOWING HOW MUCH STAFF TIME HAS BEEN TAKEN IN WORKING ON THE NEW GES, DR. RALEY AND I MADE THIS DECISION THAT EVEN THE TWO PROJECTS THAT WE HAVE LEFT, THE NEW CTE ADDITION AND GHS GMS RENOVATIONS WOULD SHIFT A YEAR. SO WE ARE NOT QUITE -- WE ARE NOT QUITE READY TO GET OUR HEAD AROUND THE DESIGN. THAT WAS A DECISION, A STAFFING DECISION. WE HAVE ABOUT HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO TAKE ON A MAJOR CAPITAL PROJECT LIKE THIS WITH OUR SMALL STAFF. SO WE SHIFTED THAT OUT. WE HAVE AN HVAC PROJECT THAT HAD ORIGINALLY BEEN HUNDRED THREE PHASES, WORKING WITH OUR ENGINEERING FIRM, WE DETERMINED THAT IT WOULD BE MORE OFFICIALLY DONE IN TWO PHASES AND SO WE WILL SEND TO YOU IN JANUARY THE FIRST PHASE OF THAT, WHICH WE CAN PAY FOR NOW, THE SECOND, WE WANT TO INCLUDE IN ITS TOTALITY IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2024 BUDGET. BUT IT IS REALLY THIS HIGH SCHOOL HVAC COST THAT ARE JUST, WE REALLY NEED TO ADDRESS THOSE ISSUES AT THE HIGH SCHOOL. YOU KNOW, FOR THE PRICE THERE THAT IS GOING TO MEAN THAT THERE'S LESS DOLLARS FOR OTHER THINGS. HE DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE DON'T NEED THEM. WE THINK WE CAN LIVE WITHOUT THEM FOR A LITTLE BIT LONGER. WE WERE GIVEN THIS TECHNOLOGY AND PEOPLE RAN WITH IT AND NOT NECESSARILY IN THE BEST DIRECTIONS. SO I'M SO GLAD THAT OUR FUTURE TECHNOLOGY USERS WILL HAVE HAD THIS COMMON SENSE, GREAT NAME FOR IT.
